Next post from last weeks trip to the Farne Islands, in all I must have took 500+ Puffin photos, I just love these little birds, they spend most of the year braving the high seas and come back to these Islands each year to breed and then head back out to sea. They are real enigmatic characters and such fun to watch, a difficult task choosing a set for the post but have tried to include a variety of shots.
Not want you want to see falling as the bird approaches!!
A bit of mutual bonding
Something a bit bigger than a sand eel?
When the Puffins land with beakfulls of eels they then have to escape the marauding gulls and get in their burrow before their catch is stolen
more shots coming soon of Arctic Terns, Guillemots, Razorbills and Shags.........
Impressive, entertaining, and everything that goes with viewing this excellent collection of images of the enigmatic Puffin....must have been pure magic being there with your camera watching and photographing 'em.
ReplyDeleteGreat Stuff Gary.
Gary. Your shutter finger must have been worn out after your trip to The Farnes !! A fantastic collection of images covering every bird and especially your wonderful set of puffin images. All of course obtained in what looked like perfect conditions. I am jealous and may go myself later this month. Your wonderful images have inspired me. Excellent...very well done.
