North East Wales has been hit by deluges of snow over the last two days, it took me nearly 4 hours this morning to dig my way out of the Cottage and get my car up to the road, the snow on the track which is well over 100 yards long was 2 ft deep in places...
But yesterday morning I spent a couple of hours early on watching the birds visiting my feeding station in the garden, and it really made me realise just how they rely on our garden feeders for that little bit extra in the extreme weather.... nearly said winter weather, but it is supposed to be SPRING!!
Anyway on with some pics that I took, all were taken through the kitchen window!
Brilliant set Gary, through the window or not. Always difficult to choose a favourite, but I reckon the top 'woodpecker' won it for me.
ReplyDeleteWonderful images Gary, have to agree with Peter about the woodpecker image.you're certainly right about how much the birds rely on the garden feeding stations in bad weather.
ReplyDeleteThere aren't enough superlatives to describe your photos. So, instead I'll say, love them all xx
ReplyDeleteGary, your photos are superb - even taken through a kitchen window!!! What a variety! The pheasant is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get some REAL Spring weather soon. This weather is disturbing, to say the least.
The kitchen window must have been really clean, LOL!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures!
When I got similar shots of the woodpecker, it took hours of waiting in a hide in the cold... You are much smarter!!!!!
Sorry for the late comment Gary, but your post seems to have somehow passed me by!
ReplyDeleteI hope, by now, that you've managed to dig your way out of the snow?
You've captured an excellent set of images of the birds that visit your garden, I'm really envious of the GS Woodpecker and the Jay...especially the Jay!!
Lets hope that this is the last of the winter weather, we could do with some warm sun!...[;o)
And I thought we had a good variety of birds at our feeders! What a great assortment you have captured!
ReplyDeleteGary. You have certainly taken advantage of the very snowy conditions with a great set of images...all top class. It's time that Winter was on it's way out but it seems it may be around for another month !!!
ReplyDeleteQuite a busy garden then. Fabulous pictures.
